- 1 cup cake flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 10 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 tablespoon pink food coloring
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, sift together cake flour, 1 cup of sugar, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat egg whites until foamy, then add cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar while beating until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the flour mixture into the egg whites, then fold in vanilla, almond extract, and pink food coloring.
- Pour the batter into an ungreased angel food cake pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cake springs back when lightly touched.
- Remove from the oven and invert the pan to cool completely before removing the cake.
