Crème Brûlée French Toast

A delicious take on classic French toast, this Crème Brûlée variation adds a touch of indulgence to your breakfast.

  • 4 slices brioche bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla, and salt.
  2. Soak the brioche slices in the mixture for about 5 minutes on each side.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the soaked brioche until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Sprinkle brown sugar on top and caramelize with a kitchen torch.
  5. Serve warm with syrup or fresh fruit.

Notes

  • Make sure the brioche is slightly stale for better absorption of the mixture.
  • You can add a dash of cinnamon for extra flavor.
