Easy Gingerbread Waffles

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Preheat the waffle iron and lightly grease it. Pour batter into the waffle iron and cook according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Serve warm with maple syrup or your favorite toppings.

Notes
