Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

  • 6 cups fresh peaches, sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix fresh peaches with sugar, and set aside to macerate.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, flour, milk, baking powder, and salt to create the batter.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  5. Spoon the peaches and juices over the batter.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.
