  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into a greased 9-inch round cake pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. While the cake cools, whip heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  8. Once the cake is cool, frost with whipped cream and top with chocolate shavings.
