How to Make Apple Crumb Bars That Taste Just Like Grandma’s

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the softened butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. In another bowl, combine the diced apples and lemon juice. Spread the apple mixture over the crust.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the apples.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • For a sweeter filling, you can add more sugar to the apples.
  • Serve with whipped cream for extra indulgence.
