These maple bars are a perfect blend of sweetness and indulgence, ideal for a weekend treat.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and mix well, then stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just blended.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bars cool, then mix powdered sugar with milk and drizzle over the top.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark maple syrup.
  • These bars can be frozen for up to 3 months.
