  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix melted butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs, red food coloring, and vanilla extract; combine well.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
  6. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add the egg and mix until combined.
  7. Spread the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer, and then dollop the remaining brownie batter on top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Allow to cool before slicing.

Notes

  • For a stronger red velvet flavor, consider adding more food coloring.
