  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder, then add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Allow cakes to cool completely before frosting.
  7. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
