Tiramisu Yule Log Cake

This Tiramisu Yule Log Cake combines the classic flavors of tiramisu with the festive spirit of a Yule log, creating a delightful dessert perfect for the holiday season.

  • 1 cup espresso, cooled
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 large eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 package ladyfinger cookies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form, then gently fold into the batter.
  7. Spread the batter onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Allow the sponge to cool, then brush it with cooled espresso.
  9. Layer the ladyfinger cookies onto the sponge, add the mascarpone mixture, and roll into a log shape.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider dusting the log with extra cocoa powder before serving.
  • Can be prepared a day in advance for optimal flavor.
