  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and maple syrup.
  4. In another bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  5. Drop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  7. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle some powdered sugar on top of the cookies once they have cooled.
  • These cookies can be made ahead of time and stored for up to a week.
