2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
Divide the dough in half and shape into logs. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Slice the chilled logs into 1/4 inch thick slices.
